I believe that at trade conferences and conventions, the real learning happens in the hallways. It’s in between the structured presentations that people get together and test their ideas to see how they’ll hold up in casual discussion with peers.
Even with Twitter providing keynote real time play by play and any back and forth which happens online, there is great potential for epiphanies when you meet up after the sessions to talk shop with other attendees.
Perhaps I just don’t like structure or maybe I’ve had enough of panel discussion and would rather stick a needle in my eye than attend another one. Could I be rationalizing here to support an unreasonable fear of “power panels”? It’s something I’ll have to ask around about at the Fusion Marketing Experience this Wednesday in Brussels – in the halls, between sessions.
I like the idea that the conference is providing an atmosphere where attendees can interact with the keynote speakers and each other directly, in an intimate setting. The speaker lineup is stellar and I expect some absolutely amazing discussions to be happening all day and night.
As you read this, I will be winging my way from Toronto to Brussels for what I expect will be a great event! I look forward to meeting and learning with you! There’s still time to join us on Wednesday! Take a look at the amazing lineup of experts below and register!
